<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-194" src="/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/cfauteux.jpg" alt="Christian Fauteux" width="145" height="218" />I am a research scientist specializing in materials science and nanotechnology with a background in applied physics and chemistry. My main expertise lies in laser processing, gas and liquid-phase synthesis of nanostructured materials, zinc oxide and carbon-based materials. I also have extensive experience in materials characterization and project management.</p>

<p>Micro- and Nanofabrication processes:<br />
Chemical vapour deposition (CVD), plasma-enhanced CVS, laser-induced CVD, Metalorganic CVD, pulsed laser deposition (PLD), laser-induced chemical liquid deposition (LCLD), laser pyrolysis, photolithography, solution and sol-gel chemical synthesis.</p>
<p>Characterization techniques:<br />
Raman spectroscopy, scanning (SEM) and transmission (TEM) electron microscopy, X-ray (XRD) and electron (SAED) diffraction, X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), Infrared absorption (FT-IR), Photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), Atomic force microscopy (AFM).</p>
<p>Software:<br />
Renishaw WIRE, Photoshop, Image Pro, Labview, Borland C++, Maple and Matlab.</p>
<h2>Current occupation</h2>
<p>I currently work at Empa, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research, in Dübendorf, Switzerland. i now work on joining and interface technologies related to nanomaterials.</p>
